García Pimienta to replace Rubi as UD Almería manager

UD Almería has a new manager. Xavier García Pimienta has reached an agreement with the Andalusian club to replace Rubi on the bench. The decision to replace Rubi was made regardless of whether the Catalan coach had managed to return the team to the First Division.

What happened to Rubi?

Rubi will leave the UD Almería bench after two seasons. His departure will be made official soon.

Why García Pimienta?

García Pimienta was the Andalusian club's first choice. The former Las Palmas and Sevilla coach had a significant offer from Qatar, but ultimately opted for UD Almería.

What's next?

The Catalan coach has been without a team since his departure from Sevilla, over a year ago. He is expected to sign a contract for one season with an additional optional year.
