UD Almería ended the season with a loss in the last match, but the team showed its commitment and effort throughout the season. In the field, the players gave their all to try to get the Castellón into the final for promotion to First Division and were close to achieving it. And also in the stands, the fans, around half a million, were by their team's side in the good and bad times, as the Castellón supporters know well. The Castellón coach, Pablo Hernández, was hurt as an aficionado, but grateful for the effort of his players. "I know these situations are tough. It's hard to change the feeling of frustration, but I've told the players they can be proud of the season they've done. I've thanked them for their commitment, for everything they've given, how they've trained and competed, how they've believed in this idea. We didn't make it, but they can go with their heads held high. Football wasn't too fair to us today, but I'm sure this will help us grow and look to the future with a different perspective, both for the club and the players". Álex Calatrava, the author of the goal with which the Castellón initiated the comeback that made them dream of advancing to the final, also had the fans in his head. "This whole crowd deserves to have passed to the final, we've tried but it couldn't be. We've fought a lot to get here, we've tried and football hasn't been fair, but we're going with our heads held high because we've done a very good season. Thanks for being with us in the good and bad times. This is football and we'll keep trying. We believed in ourselves, but it couldn't be and we'll see if we can try again next year".
