UD Almería stadium renovation to start in mid-July

What happened?

The UD Almería will start the renovation and expansion of its stadium in mid-July. The second phase of the works will be developed in two stages to not interfere with the competition and so the team can play in it all season 2026-27.

Why is it important for UD Almería?

The Almería club reported that the dispute of the promotion to First, in which they lost the final against Málaga, has forced them to replant the calendar to adapt the execution of the works to the short margin that the summer leaves.

What comes next?

The first major stage of the reform will last throughout the 2026/27 campaign, will represent around 35 percent of the total volume planned for this second phase, and will focus on the foundations of the new stands of both funds.

The UD Almería assured that all these actions can be developed without affecting the capacity of the enclosure or the visibility of the spectators. The forecast is to complete the complete renovation at the beginning of September 2027, when the stadium will reach a capacity of 26,400 spectators.

What do the construction companies say?

The Almería club has already held conversations with Granada CF to have the Nuevo Los Cármenes if it were necessary to play some match as a local. The Almería club publicly thanked the collaboration and predisposition shown for this by Granada.
